Permissions for the IONOS HiDrive Windows/macOS/Linux app

Permissions in general
In order to use the app on your device, it must be able to access various functions and data on your device. To do this, you need to grant certain permissions.
Where you have granted permissions, we only use them to the extent described below:

Access to your internet connection
The app requires internet access via a Wi-Fi or mobile network to display the data you have saved in HiDrive Next.

Use the image, music and video library
The app requires the permissions listed above to save files from your device to HiDrive Next or files from HiDrive Next to your device.

Communications
Information about the current status may be displayed to you if you give your consent. For example, we may let you know if a photo has been uploaded or if any errors have occurred.

Log data
When you use our services via the app, the device you are using automatically transmits log data (connection data) to our servers. This is particularly the case when you log in or when you upload or download data. The log data contains the IP address of the device you are using to access a service, your system configuration, and the date and time. We only retain IP addresses to the extent necessary for the provision of our services. Otherwise, IP addresses are deleted or anonymised.

Analysis with Google Analytics
The operator of Google Analytics is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, 94043 Mountain View, USA. Each time one of the individual pages of this application is accessed, Google collects data for marketing and optimisation purposes and stores it. The usage profiles obtained in this way are used to analyse the behaviour of visitors to our application and are evaluated with the aim of improving and optimising the application. This data is not linked to personal data or to other data containing the same pseudonym.
By default, the collection of analytics data is not enabled. Even after activation, you have the option to object to the collection and processing. You can disable this function in the HiDrive Next app settings.

Crash analysis with Crashlytics
This app uses the Crashlytics crash analysis system provided by GoogleOne, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, 94043 Mountain View, USA. If the app crashes, anonymous data regarding the device type, operating system version and the crash is collected, stored and transmitted to processing servers. At no point are users or devices identified; your identity remains protected. After a crash, you will be asked if you wish to send an error report. In the app settings, you can opt out of data transmission at any time by clicking the ‘Send error reports’ button.

Transparency is our motto
All data we receive from you during the contractual relationship is used primarily to provide the service you expect. We carry out internal evaluations and analyses to improve our products and services exclusively within the limits set by law, in an anonymous and pseudonymous form.

Your rights
In addition to the right of access, you also have the right to rectify the personal data held about you, the right to erasure, the right to restrict processing and the right to data portability.
